Description: Postcard showing two photos of the Postum Cereal Company including the first building and later factory complex, c. 1910. C. W. Post (1856-1914) first visited Battle Creek as a patient at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. He started the Postum Cereal Company in 1895, introducing a cereal drink, Postum, at that time and Grape Nuts cereal in 1897. In 1908 he started production of Elijah's Manna, a flaked corn cereal that later became known as Post Toasties. Caption on front: The Little White Barn At Postumville, Battle Creek, Mich., In which the manufacture of Postum Food Coffee was started, January 1, 1895. The Plant of the Postum Cereal Co., Ltd. As it is today, where Postum, Grape-Nuts and Post Toasties are made, Probably the largest Pure Food Factory in the World. "There's a Reason."
